Porcelain Veneers are thin, medical-grade shells that are glued to the front of teeth to instantly improve the appearance of a smile. Veneers are a wonderful smile makeover option providing dramatic and long-lasting results.

Hamamoto Dentistry - Bothell WA Dentist

Everybody has that one feature they don't like about themselves, and teeth are no exception. But now there is a way to make them more appealing: Dental Veneers!

These customizable thin coverings will not only fix any problems you may have with your smiles but also help improve the appearance in general.

Veneers are custom-made to order for each patient to give them the best appealing appearance possible. They are tooth-colored and reflect light similarly to natural teeth, hide discoloration, brighten teeth, and generally improve your smile.

Benefits of Getting Veneers for Your Teeth

Veneers are a Simple and Easy Fix
Porcelain veneers are a simple fix to improve the appearance of your teeth if you have serious cosmetic issues. For people who are unsatisfied with the appearance of their teeth, veneers can be life-changing.

Porcelain veneers can easily correct any of the following visual issues:

  • Stained or discolored teeth
  • Chipped or broken teeth
  • Missing teeth
  • Teeth with gaps between them
  • Misshapen or malformed teeth

Veneers are Permanent, Durable, and Easy to Care For
Veneers have a higher resistance to decay and discoloration than natural teeth. The veneers withstand stains and cavities better than natural tooth enamel because they are non-porous (which is porous). A dental veneer can last between 10 and 15 years if cared for properly.

You don't need to do anything unusual to keep your dental veneers in good shape. Maintenance is similar to how you would care for your natural teeth. Brushing twice a day and flossing at least once a day is recommended. Maintaining a normal check-up schedule here at Hamamoto dentistry will help your veneers last a long, long time.

Permanent Whitening and a Treatment for Enamel Loss
It takes a lot to wear away the strong enamel that occurs in teeth naturally. Enamel can be worn away by acidic foods, overly aggressive tooth brushing, or acid reflux syndrome (where stomach acids may end up in the mouth). When tooth enamel is worn away, it is never replaced. Veneers are a long-lasting, visually beautiful alternative to the enamel. Because they don't stain easily, veneers are a fantastic choice for those seeking a more permanent white and the appearance of perfection.

The Process of Getting Porcelain Veneers

To prepare a tooth for a veneer, the doctor will remove about 1/2 millimeter of enamel from the tooth surface, which is equivalent to the thickness of the veneer to be added to the tooth surface. Before trimming off the enamel, we will discuss the need for a local anesthetic to numb the area.

Next, we will make a model or impression of your tooth. This model is sent out to a dental laboratory, which in turn constructs your veneer. Veneers are custom-made to match the color of your tooth enamel and the shape of your natural teeth. It usually takes 1 to 2 weeks for us to receive the veneer back from the laboratory. For very unsightly teeth, temporary dental veneers can be placed for an additional cost.

It may take more than one appointment to complete this sort of dental restoration, but the ultimate result appears wonderfully real!

When the veneers are ready to be placed in the mouth after being returned from the lab, the dentist sculpts each overlay precisely to create a natural-looking grin. The design is tailored to your facial symmetry and general aesthetic. Once placed, the veneers will appear and feel natural to you and others.
