How Often Should I See A Dentist?

Even if you are happy in every way with your teeth, your mouth deserves a checkup every six months. The American Dental Association (ADA) recommends you see your dentist at least twice a year. During this appointment, you may receive a professional dental cleaning, dental x-rays, home care tips, and a careful inspection of your mouth.

This bi-annual visit is important because problems such as cavities, gum disease, and even deadly oral cancers most often develop with no symptoms whatsoever. While some of these problems develop slowly and others very rapidly, six months is plenty of time for new problems to begin maturing symptoms. Fortunately, when caught within six months, most dental diseases are relatively early in their development and your dentist can help treat these problems appropriately and conservatively.

Please make sure to visit your dentist every six months to keep your mouth disease-free. Plus, you can't beat that great clean feeling after a visit to your friendly dental hygienist.

What Should I Expect During My First Appointment?

It is extremely important to us that you understand your mouth and know your options. Our initial comprehensive examinations include:

  • One-on-one consultation with the doctor
  • Digital x-rays
  • Intraoral photography
  • Full mouth digital photography
  • Discussion of treatment options

We utilize the latest digital technologies and one-on-one communication to help you understand your mouth better than you ever have before.

Wondering what's going on with that tooth? See it up close on the monitor. We will help inform you of your situation and discuss your options so you can make the best decisions for your oral health.
